Dude, buy it on winter and get ready for the season.
    That’s what you should do.
Btw, how much are you planing to spend on a bike, maybe I can tell you some good models.

If you have some bowls, you can get much faster speed with downhill bikes and even with XC.
But if you like road biking more, than it’s OK.
Try searching for Cannondale, Specialized, Giant, Merida, Look, Scott, Kanyon, Norco, Rocky Mountain, Cube… those are pretty good brands.

mtb is fine, but i enjoy more the fast speed of roadbikes 😉

So you like mountain biking too?
If you do, than you could buy some pretty good mountain bike and when you want to go cycling just put those road tires… I do that.

KS cycling velocity root. Very cheap bike and im not sure of the full name. It’s comftorable and very light. Comparing to my heavy crappy 100euros mountainbike, anything is better xD. So im happy with this one.

OK, I also ride just for fun in a serious matter, but I might join some biking club.. you could also do that.
But you didn’t tell me what bike do you have (name and model)

just for fun in a serious matter 🙂 I ride always over an hour and no matter what weather it is, I always try to have a 26km/h+ it’s very hard with the traffic + hills.
also nobody here in finland has so far managed to pass me =Þ not many even own a proper roadbike

    What bike do you have?
Do you race or just ride for fun?

ye I already have a pretty nice roadbike, it’s a bit too big so im deciding to buy a new one for around 1500euros. I was just curious how those would work in normal use and I wouldnt use the disc, because I do know how much it affects on the ride. Maybe when im richer and then I will be able to try all kinds of bikes 😉

They are good for everything – you can’t complain about technology or anything else. But they are made for time trial races or just time trial ride.It would be harder for you to climb and you won’t feel comfortable as on regular road bike. And as I said, their rear wheel looks like ‘shield’ so if the wind is blowing laterally on you, than you might crash or your ride would be harder.
Those guys are racing for some veeery rich teams and they just gave them bikes.Don’t be silly, I’d buy regular bike

what if id get a bike like that for everyday use to ride 50km/h on roads? would it be good for normal use?

They are ‘more’ aerodynamic and they are no comfortable for such a long rides than those regular road bikes.
That’s because time trial races are not that long – those races are like from 30 to, let’s say 70 km long.Every rider rides alone – not with team help(But there are also team time trail races where every team rides ‘alone’)
I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but they also use different helmets and all rider appeal is aerodynamic

why arent they used in 100km+ drives if they are so good?
are they good only for short rides?

Those are time trial bikes. They are similar to regular road bikes but with a bit different frame and handle bar. Also rear wheel looks like ‘shield’ but that can be very dangerous in case that wind is blowing laterally on you.

It was a joke I think.

Think it’s more about the thing that they are not legal to use in a road race because of the frame angles and the handlebar. And also the tt bikes are a bit heavier and you can’t answer to an attack in the peloton as good as with a road bike. Remember, the cycling part in an ironman is 180 km, thats pretty long. 🙂

Bikes are Called tt / Time Trial bike they are only used for it e trials as the frame angles setup means they are not v comfy for long road stages

what kind of bikes those are?
how come i never see them?
and are they only used for races like this?
