David Millar Talks Of Banned Drug Usage

David Millar was part of the British pro cycling world. Today he makes frank admittance that he did take Triamcinolone or Kenacort which had powerful effects on his mind and body.


He says that he had even resorted to the drug under a tendon issue that was a pretense. With much insight and reviews being made for use of drugs for cyclists, there have been historical findings and reviews being done on what past athletes have done. Millar for instance, has recently released an article in the New York Times where he has recounted how he got away with using Kenacort or Triamcinolone which is a banned drug. He admits that he had obtained clearance about the use of the drug on the therapeutic needs as part of a tendon treatment. This had been a false pretense. (more…)

GERAINT THOMAS TO MISS COMMONWEALTH GAMES.

Geraint Thomas has explained that his commitment to Team Sky will not permit him to defend his Commonwealth Game title in 2018.


The 30-year old endured a puncture in Glasgow but persisted to win the gold medal, after a solo attack.

Thomas had won this year Paris-Nice with Team Sky, but would not be present to defend the title at the next game, which is scheduled to take place in 2018. He explained that he will miss the event due to his schedule with British World Tour outfit.

Owain Doull and Luke Rowe who are also part of the Team Sky squad would also be unavailable for selection due to engagement at the cobbled classic.

Thomas who has won time trial bronze, and his fellow Welshmen had consider it most unfortunate that the three of them will miss out of the chance to represent wales at the game. In an interview, he told BBC Wales Sport: (more…)

Geraint Thomas Is Sky’s Future Talisman: Wiggins

Geraint Thomas would be delighted to know that his much admired team-mate Sir Wiggins considers him as the next talisman for Team Sky.

The 2012 Tour France winner is on his way to leave Sky post his stint at 2015 Paris Roubaix as he is willing to concentrate on track afterwards. Wiggin’s last days with Sky comes at a time when Thomas is rising up as a highly accomplished Sky leader for Classics. According to Wiggo, post winning E3 Harelbeke, would be on cusp of taking up first Monument for the team.

“Geraint is probably our race favourite. Thus, it is clear what we need to do”, stated Wiggins.

“Sky is quite good at placing their leader where the rider requires to be & in Thomas we have got somebody who could triumph at this race.”

The 2012 Tour France champion has long been a senior team mate of Thomas & he surely knows the rider well. The duo have been track teammates in Beijing Olympics 2008 & formed a great part of Sky’s 1st roster after 2 years. The Welshman skipped Wiggins winner 2012 Tour France ride to focus on track yet at 2015 Paris-Nice, Wiggo highlighted on Geraint’s new-found diligence & concentration on details – the very trait that he himself is revered for. Simon Clarke Focusing On Giro d’Italia 2015

Grand tours (Giro d’Italia, Tour de France and Vuelta a Espana) have always been good hunting grounds for the Australian professional cyclist- Simon Clarke. In the Vuelta a Espana 2012, Clarke was not only able to win one of the race stages but also won the stage of mountains classification. Along with that, Clarke’s team Orica-GreenEdge won the team time-trial race stage in the Tour de France 2013.

Simon Clarke had also participated in the Tour de France 2014 in which he was honored with the most combative rider award after the stage 12 of the tour. Clarke had received the same combative rider prize after the stage 3 of Tour de France 2013.

For the upcoming cycling season, Clarke wants to focus on Giro d’Italia instead of the other two grand tours. (more…)
